Accessing Library Spaces and Collections
- Height-adjustable desks with PC workstations are available in Library Computer Lab 7-202C.
- Books and physical materials can be retrieved for you; use the “Place Hold” option in the Library Catalogue or request assistance in person or online.
Accessibility Software
Grammarly Premium: All MacEwan University students, staff, and faculty receive free access to Grammarly Premium. This software offers grammar checking and writing support.
All library PC and Mac workstations include the following accessibility software applications:
- Read&Write Gold: literacy support software
- ZoomText Magnifier/Reader: screen magnification and text-to-speech software
Access and Disability Resources (ADR) Students
Students with a disability or medical condition can meet with an Access and Disability Resources Learning Specialist to arrange services or accommodations. Please contact Access and Disability Resources (ADR) to book an appointment.
Alternate Format Requests for Library Materials
Students registered with Access and Disability Resources can consult with the ADR liaison librarian. The librarian can explore options for accessing library materials, such as digitizing a print book or applying captions to a streaming video or DVD. Access to the Internet Archive Collection for People with Print Disabilities
The Internet Archive has more than 1.9 million books that can be borrowed online by users with disabilities that interfere with reading printed text. To request access to this collection, please contact Michael Brundin (brundinm@macewan.ca).
